We enjoyed some sunshine this weekend, and I cannot tell you how good it felt! We met up with some friends for dinner, and I had a girlfriend come over for coffee this past weekend. Which brings me to the importance of friendships. I’m the type of friend that once I consider you part of my life I’ll be your friend for a lifetime. I’m very loyal to the ones I consider dear to my heart. We live in a society where we spend way too much time on our mobile devices rather than connecting with others in real life. Being a digital publisher – I even have to remind myself to “keep the darn phone down”. I try and balance it by making sure that my weekends are more or less cell phone/social media free. Of course, I have scheduled content that goes up because overall this is my profession, but I really try not to spend too much time in doing so.

But let’s get back to today’s OOTD, shall we? It’s funny that I actually consider myself a denim girl now. Because in the past I never liked wearing denim. But I guess, once you find a good pair you won’t stop wearing them. Just like friendships. Once you found a gem you’ll make sure to never let go of them.

    Vanessa you gorgeous today! I love those jeans on you they fit a glove as though they were meant for you. And you’ve styled it beautifully. I agree, its alway important and take some time for your self, so you can recharge the batteries. But most important have quality time with your family and loved ones.

    I’m loving the outfit, Vanessa! The addition of the bandana really adds that unexpected, stylish element to the look. I also love that Gucci purse, so pretty, and looks fab with the contrast of the printed red bandana! I, too, am a loyal person and because of that, I don’t have many friends. I have enough who are as equally loyal to me as I am them. It’s very hard to find people these days that have both loyalty and integrity, two VERY important qualities I look for because I’m always strengthening them in myself. I also practice the habit of putting my phone away and not as active on social media on the weekends, as I am during the week. When you work so much online, it can really be a challenge to know when to stop and soak in the moment in which you physically live, but it’s extremely important to establish that happy and healthy medium. We have quite a lot in common, aside from the love for fashion 🙂

    I love Dear John denim! They are the best jeans, I swear. I have always been a denim girl. I worked in a high end retail boutique during highs school and I fell in love with all brands! I have WAY to many jeans to count.

    I’m the same way. I’m very loyal to my friends and those that I bring into my life. It’s important to be in the social media realm in order to keep your blog afloat but family and friendships are even more important and should be prioritized.

    My phone stays at home whenever go to the beach once a week, and when it’s bed time or when i’m dining out, my close relatives and few friends make me forget i have a phone so i quite enjoy every time spent with them and that’s actually how i create a balance .
