My husband and I met in college. We were quite young back then, but we knew early on that we were meant for each other — however, it wasn’t until 5 years of dating that we decided to get married. Our wedding was very intimate, consisting only of our closest friends and family.

We had an outdoor wedding in July, and I will never forget the moment when my husband and I exchanged our vows to each other — I was so nervous that I started shaking. It meant so much to me and my husband to exchange our vows in front of our loved ones. My friends and family flew in from Europe, and my husband’s flew in from California.

My husband and I always said that we would renew our vows on our 10th Wedding Anniversary, and perhaps we will…either way, I would be honored to renew my vows to my best friend. Without him I wouldn’t be where I am today.

    Such a lovely reflection of your romance and love!! If I do get married, I have such a similar mindset to you… I want an intimate ceremony and reception. The idea of a big, flashy wedding does nothing for me.

    This is a very moving post. I also had a very intimate wedding, and the dress I wore was not sold as a wedding dress but as a cocktail dress. It was grey (I didn’t want to wear white) with a wide skirt full of tulle ruffles. I loved it!
