Fact: YMI Denim will never go out of style.

Spring is slowly making its way to Chicago, and what’s better to celebrate the warmer weather in an all denim outfit? A good pair of denim is timeless — hence I’m always on the look out for a brand that delivers just that. Timeless jeans, consisting of quality and innovation.

YMI Jeans is a denim brand I’ve recently discovered, and I must admit: I’ve fallen in love with YMI. My denims, i.e. jeggings are super soft, and stretchy! They feel like leggings but have the look and feel of denims. Who does’t love that?!

I’ve paired my jeggings with a tie-front crop top to create a retro touch to my look. I feel very 50s glam, a fashion period I very much adore. And guess what?! My husband even complimented me on this outfit. He is most definitely my fashion police, I swear. He has made quite the comments over the last year. Some funny, strange…and sweet comments. But what can I tell you?! He is my husband, photographer and partner in crime.

As always, thanks so much for reading and don’t forget to check out YMI Jeans HERE for some amazing denim deals!

Have a fabulous weekend, and much love!

Spring is slowly approaching in Chicago, and I couldn’t be happier! There are many reasons why I get excited about Spring: Think lighter clothes and tulips blooming everywhere! Spring is the season most people look forward to, like a promise of good things to come, or the Eva Mendes New Spring Collection for NY & Company.

I’ve been a fan of NY & Company for as long as I can remember. While NY & Company is known for wear-to-work clothing, the Eva Mendes Spring Collection gives you feminine dresses, as well as midi skirts with lots of fabulous prints! I’m wearing Eva’s Del Mar Strapless DressI love the exotic floral print which is one of Eva’s key motifs this season. It’s elegant and very feminine.

I wore this dress to a coffee date with my husband. We’ve been spending a lot of time in Evanston lately – it’s a beautiful town not too far from where we live. It has the most amazing coffee shops, and it’s the perfect city to simply walk around in without having to fight the crowds. Downtown Chicago will always be my favorite city but sometimes I crave more low-key adventures. It’s much more relaxing and it gives you the chance to simply watch the world go by while enjoying a cafe latte.

How about you? What excites you about Spring?

As always, I would love to hear from you and thanks so much for reading!

Much love.

The Business of Blogging

Blogging_What Would V Wear_Social Media

My Monday’s are typically very busy. I’m catching up on all of my emails and social media, as well as preparing my content for the rest of the week. I get up around 6:30AM each morning and start working around 7:00AM. I try and finish by noon, take a break and then use the rest of the afternoon for meetings and/or editing blog content for the week ahead.

Sometimes I cannot help but smile when people think that the life of a blogger is glamorous. Now it certainly has its very special perks that make it seem very glamorous but being a professional blogger also means: A lot of work.

The pressure is constant – being a digital publisher means to come up with content that is not only visually attractive but also ‘entertaining’ at the same time. People visit your blog for many different reasons — but I doubt most of my readers come to simply look at my pictures. Well, I hope they don’t. We all have a unique voice, and I’m really trying to use my own. I try to share my story with you — hoping that we can learn from each other.

Around 4PM things start calm down and I can actually relax a bit before I officially stop working by 5:30PM. Having a set schedule each day is extremely important to me. I treat my “work from home” situation just like my former corporate job where I had my set hours.

How about you?! How do you treat your blogging business? Or perhaps blogging is your hobby? Either way, I’d love to hear from you!

As always, thanks much for reading & have a fabulous Monday!

Much love.

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind

Over the last couple of months I’ve gotten quite a few emails regarding my photography. Many of you asked me what camera my husband and I use, and what editing tools I primarily work with. Hence I decided to dedicate an entire blog post on my photography today.

Below are some questions I’ve received via emails and social media. I hope you’ll find this post informative and helpful, and don’t forget to comment below if you have any other questions, or perhaps you want to share some of your photography tips with me?! In any case, I would love to hear from you!

Happy Reading!

What camera do you use?

I use a Nikon D3000. Most of my style posts are being shot with a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S lens.

Who edits your pictures and what tools do you use?

I edit my pictures myself and I primarily work with Lightroom. Lightroom is especially useful if you shoot in RAW because that way you can edit your pictures to your own liking.

Who takes your outfit post pictures?

My husband (so, cliché!). However, I take all of my flat lays, product images and social media pictures myself, and the pictures for this post were also taken by yours truly.

Do you take pictures with your cell phone?

I do, but I must say that I prefer my DSLR camera much better. My iPhone takes great pictures, don’t get me wrong, but it simply cannot compete with a DSLR.

Do you have photography tips for new bloggers?

First and foremost, you need to remember that no one takes a perfect photo every time, including myself. It takes practice, practice and practice.  To learn how to edit photos I strongly recommend attending photography classes, or watch some Youtube videos online. For instance, I learned how to use Lightroom via Youtube.

Don’t give up, and keep educating yourself!

Thanks much for reading, and don’t forget to comment below if you have any other questions!

Much love.

How to Wear Moto Jackets

Moto Jackets: “Embrace your feminine edge!”

I’ve long been a fan of moto jackets. I love the urbanite look it creates, and it also adds a little bit of edgy into your day-to-day wardrobe, wouldn’t you agree? My biker jacket has an asymmetrical front, and sharp zipper details which I very much adore.

I bought this jacket not too long ago when I discovered that my former moto jacket (see this post here) was ruined by one of my dogs, Cali. She actually chew the zippers off! She did that when we literally left the house for about 15min… Story of my life. I was a bit upset — but how can you really stay mad at a dog as they watch you with those BIG puppy eyes? Yep, it’s impossible! I got a new one instead and cuddled Cali, as always.

Now back to this jacket, and how I like to style them. I personally like to play with different fabric textures. For instance, I’m wearing a corduroy front-button skirt paired with my leather moto jacket. It creates a different look and it embraces my feminine edge at the same time. I also like to play with the silhouette. My motorcycle jacket ends at my natural waist, which makes them perfect for wearing them with skirts, dresses and pants.

How about you? How do you style your moto jackets? Let me know by commenting below!

As always, thanks much for reading & have a fabulous Wednesday!

Much love.
