Let’s talk all things hair and beauty related today! Over the weekend I had the opportunity to visit JOOJ Blow Dry, a mobile “at your service” blow out and hair style hub, based in one amazingly chic Airstream trailer.

JOOJ Blow Dry is your on-the-go hair service in the Chicago area. I visited them on Saturday for a crown braid. I’ve long been a fan of crown braids – they are effortlessly chic and classy. My stylist, Cindy was wonderful. She was very sweet, and made sure that I felt great during our entire time together. She started off applying some dry shampoo to my roots for some extra volume, brushed it gently, and then started braiding my hair.

And what can I tell you?! I absolutley loved how it turned out! Braids aren’t just for school girls anymore, this versatile hairstyle can be worn by anyone. I adore the innocent look to it, and yet it’s sensual too.

This being said, my entire JOOJ Blow Dry experience was just wonderful! The sleek mobile blow dry trailer is not only super stylish — it’s decorated in black and white with pops of turquoise — but the whole team at JOOJ is just incredible and uber-stylish as well.

    Hey Vanessa, loving you in crown braids, and when you put plaits in, in general. You are lucky to have a hair stylist you can trust, many decades later, and I’m still on the hunt. Sure I’ve found hair dressers who can whip up some pretty fab styles but not ones that know how to handle and treat 100% Natural Afro hair and who can give me great tips. Anyhoo, back to you: would love to see some more braid/crown braid posts from you. Have a good week Xx

    Dear V., wow, wow and again wow! You look splendid, so beautiful! Yes, it looks innocent but somehow sensuous too, you are right! So good to go to someone that you trust and that makes you feel at ease. It’s very important to feel this way, in many occasions, but I think hair “kind of” even more – we have to trust our stylist!
