Wondering what it’s like to exercise while pregnant? Today I’m sharing my fitness routine with you—research shows that exercising while pregnant can keep your heart and lungs healthy, and may also improve your mood.

Now while I don’t run a marathon while 30 weeks pregnant I do, however, prefer a brisk walk. Over the weekend we had over 50 degrees which was the perfect day for a walk and some exercise routines by the beach. As you know, I’m an avid runner but being in my 3rd trimester running is pretty much out of the picture so, I opt for a gentler option: Brisk walking. It helps me to stay fit, and most importantly it feels so good. It keeps my lungs and heart healthy which means the baby will profit from it as well. But please, note that you should take some precautions, and be sure to talk to your doctor first before you start your exercise routine.
I also believe in light stretching before and after my work-out. Lately I’ve had some really bad back aches and stretching seems to help relax my back a bit. It also helps relieve some of my discomfort and it gives me a boost of energy…because let’s face it: Being pregnant can be really tiring! How about you?! I admire that you still do brisk walks at 30 weeks. I could not walk fast from my 20th week when I was pregnant. I was always so exhausted! So I really admire your stamina! 🙂

You are such an inspiration. This year I gave myself a kick up the ass so I could exercise. The thing is I love cardio but I messed up my knees about 10 years back and it hurts to do so many basic things. Its heriditary so it aint going nowhere and even though online there are many alternatives for exercises to do. I’m stubborn, i.e. I want to exercise how I want to exercise and not have to make major changes. I tried to continue with my professional dance lessons then I had to stop because it got too frustrating to not be able to do what I knew I could do…I looove to dance you see…
Anyhoo, so this year I’m trying a new thing- I will attempt to give Naija Dance Fitness Classes and the preperation for that is making me exercise to have the stamina for the class. I’ll see how that goes, I’m trying to book a room now.
Anyhoo back to you, its great you are exercising during your pregnancy, as you said it will improve your mood and make it easier to do the oh-so-coveted SNAP BACK. Loving those leggings too. Have a good daaay hon. Xx

Exercise during pregnancy can be a hassle, but it is so important for your body and the baby’s body. Walking and stretching are the best type of exercises to practice during pregnancy. I used to add some squats here and there as well! Loving your cute workout look!!
