How to Tie A Perfect Bow on a Blouse

Admittedly I’m a girly girl at heart. Bows adorning the neck of a blouse literally screams my name. If you’ve been paying any attention to my NYFW fashion the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed that I’m bringing the 70s back. Between the suede, velvet and now pussy bow blouses, this season I’m ruling the streets of suburbia in a major way.

Perhaps consider myself a flower power girl but let me tell you: One of the biggest trends this fall is tie neck blouses. To rock your bow blouse, keep the rest of your outfit simple, so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a costume (the blouse makes a statement on its own). I paired my blouse with comfortable faux-leather pants (paperbag waist)—they go perfectly with my pink blouse, wouldn’t you agree?

There is a trick to tying a bow so it lays properly on your clothes—it’s very simple and it makes all the difference. When tying the two strings together you’ll obviously have one ribbon on the bottom and one on the top. The bottom one you make into your first loop, then you take the top ribbon, go over the top, and then through. This way you end up having the perfect front “part” of the bow. This little trick seriously makes all the difference!

    I love bows – and also flowers – dear V.! I never thought there was a “tricky” to tie a bow in a perfect way, but I will try! Your blouse is really sweet, the color is so lovely!
