I must admit when the boudoir-inspired trend came back onto the scene last fall, I simply couldn’t get enough. And lucky for me, I’m still loving the slip dress this fall. I’ve layered my silk slip dress over a black turtleneck (very Parisian chic, wouldn’t you agree?!) and added a beret, as well as nude strappy heels to complete the look.

I wore this look during our staycation at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront (I’ve shared a ton on my Instagram stories but I do have an actual review going live this Wednesday so, stay tuned for more!). And let me tell you: We truly had the best time. Chicago is a one-of-a-kind city. ‘Til this day I am simply in awe of its beauty. I might complain about our harsh winters but one thing is certain: I will always love Chicago. Deep down it’s my favorite city. But let’s get back to fashion (before I get too sentimental—LOL)…

I want to make slip dresses more elegant than ever. While I loved seeing mini silhouettes layered over a simple white tee, I decided that it was time this fall to bring some sophistication back. So, while you are shopping for the new and the interesting when it comes to slip dresses, be sure to give monochromatic, silky slip dresses a chance or go for bright colors. Very Parisian chic, indeed! I love this look and the idea of layering. I’m sometimes reluctant to wear straps as I’m conscious of my arms but the layering makes it more wearable. I love the sound of your staycation too Vanessa!
