Over the weekend my family and I spent a night at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront. We desperately needed a staycation. As a frequent reader of this blog you may know that we’re all about family time especially on the weekends. This being said when the opportunity came along to spend a night at the Wyndham’s Presidential Suite we knew that we couldn’t pass up on this amazing occasion. Chicago is not only our hometown but it truly holds a special place in our hearts.
The Hotel
Whenever we travel we want to feel at home, feel that we have a space to retreat. Over the years we stayed in many hotels in a wide range of categories, but this was our first experience at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront. This hotel provides the ideal home base for exploring Chicago. Located at 71 E Upper Wacker Drive in Chicago, you are close to attractions like Michigan Ave (also called the Magnificent Mile) and Navy Pier. My family and I loved the experience to simply escape the hustle and bustle of the City while enjoying the comfort at the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront.
The Presidential Suite
We arrived on a Friday night and we were literally taken aback by the dazzling views of downtown and the Chicago River from our Presidential Suite. One of Wyndham Grand’s finest accommodations, the Presidential Suite offers a king-size bed and panoramic views of the downtown city skyline and Chicago River. The spacious living and dining rooms include a wet bar which are ideal for entertaining friends and business associates. But the biggest hit was the blanket fort the team has set up in our suite. My boys were ecstatic to find a fort filled with toys and goodies for them. If you plan a family vacation I strongly recommend to book their “Reconnected Package” which includes not only the blanket fort kit but also s’mores pops and more.
The Amenities
The Presidential Suite came with two (2) large plasma televisions and Wi-Fi to keep you connected. It also comes with a soaking tub, a rain-forest shower, and luxurious, oversized bath linens to help you relax and leave the day behind.
The Cuisine
As far as the cuisine is concerned, the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront gets top marks. Let’s start with the breakfast buffet, which was out of this world! They had everything I could have hoped for, and more—even a yogurt parfait (my absolute favorite).
The dinner turned out even more delicious. We ordered in and I must say that that this hotel dinner was among the best I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. There was lemon chicken, strawberry/watermelon salad, burger and fries for the boys and even chips and salsa (I tend to devour those).
