Paris Je t’aime

Paris, je t’aime… Words cannot describe how much I miss living in Europe. My family and I walked all day around Paris. The beauty of this city is truly everywhere. Every street, every boulevard, every corner has its own special moment and magic.

Near Notre Dame we discovered this beautiful side street. It has so much charm and hosts many fabulous restaurants close by. We truly live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty waiting to be discovered. All we need to to is open our eyes.

The history here is amazing, and and very charming actually. It’s funny how time after time nothing really changes, and yet everything is completely different. This trip (which really is a trip home) has got me thinking a lot. I never realized how much I actually missed living here. We will see what the future brings but one thing is for sure: Paris, je t’taime.

Greetings from Paris, and thanks so much for stopping by! We’re having a grand time in Paris – it feels so good to be back! My son, husband and I have done tons of walking, and indulged in lots of cafe lattes, and hot chocolates for my son. I love the slower pace in Europe – it seems Parisians take a lot more time drinking their coffees compared to the US. As Americans we are always on the go – I’m certainly guilty of it, too. In a few weeks we’ll be heading to Germany, followed by a visit to the Netherlands. I can’t wait to show my son where I went to college, etc.

But anyhow, I’m excited to share my favorite fashion finds under $50 with you all again! Who doesn’t love a good deal, right? The handbag is my favorite – it’s super roomy and the leather is super soft + durable. I just purchased it for myself last week.

“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”

― Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

Ernest Hemingway is right: Paris is a moveable feast, a feast for your eyes. Returning to Europe has been nothing but pure joy except for my jet lag. We arrived early Sunday morning Paris time and I must admit: We were dead beat. My son and I slept on and off until 1PM the next day. However, after 1PM I said to myself: “Enough sleep. We need to go out and explore!” The fact, that most places are within walking distance, is such a plus! Hence my son, Kingston and I (my husband had to work) ventured out to Notre Dame. We passed the “Lovers Bridge”, and Kingston and I decided to leave a love locket with our initials behind as well. It was a very sweet moment.

I took these pictures myself today, and believe or not, but I really enjoyed being behind the lens for once. Capturing the beauty of Paris is almost impossible but I tried my hardest. Even though I’m European and I grew up with all this history around me I am still mesmerized every time I’m surrounded by historical architecture, such as Notre Dame. My son was quite smitten as well. He asked a lot of questions which I was very happy to answer.

This being said: Travel, travel! There’s nothing more beautiful but to smell foreign air.

As always, thanks much for visiting & have a wonderful day!

Much love from Paris!

Happy Monday, and hello from Paris! We arrived here early Sunday morning (if you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat you probably already know this) and as much as I wanted to post a Parisian outfit post today, well… we were just too tired to take any pictures after we arrived at our hotel. Instead we grabbed lunch, walked around for a bit and then went back to our hotel. However, I will have Paris pictures this week so, be sure to come back! I’m already super excited to share them with you!

Now back to this outfit post: Do you ever feel a bit glum or a little lost? I certainly do especially during the winter months. I tend to gravitate towards colors during winter since they have the ability to brighten my mood. So, for this outfit I decided to wrap some brightness around my neck. This yellow scarf is not only trending but it’s naturally sunny and bright. I’m a huge fan of scarves – it seems like every winter when the weather turns from brisk to seriously cold, chunky scarves come out in full force. I always feel like the snuggest of bugs all bundled in a huge scarf. How about you?

What is your must-have accessory during winter? Let me know by commenting below!

As always, thanks much for reading & don’t forget to stop by Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for new exciting Paris content!

Much love.

This winter I’m all about layering. Layering is stylish, keeps you warm and most importantly makes any outfit more interesting. So, from cozy faux fur vests to leather pants to camel coats, these are the items you need in your closet to take your layered looks to the next level. And before I forget: Yes, there is a difference between piling on clothes and layering. Well, if you want to layer in style that it is.

How do you like to layer?! I’m curious to know how you stay warm during the winter months.

1, 2, 3… pile on ladies, and let me know by commenting below!

Now back to this layered outfit. I actually wore this look to a meeting downtown. The meeting went extremely well, and I cannot wait to share with you what the meeting was all about, and what this will mean for What Would V Wear in the near future. Definitely stay tuned for more. On a different note: This is my last Chicago post as I’m heading to Paris this weekend. I can’t wait to share some exciting posts of Paris, as well as my hometown in Germany.

As always, thanks so much for reading & have a wonderful weekend!

PS: Don’t forget to come back Monday for an exciting style post, and make sure to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (@WhatWouldVWear) for Paris updates!

Much love.
