A monochrome white outfit will instantly elongate your look. I’ve been a fan of winter whites for as long as I can remember. Winter whites provide a perfect, fashionable look to get me through Chicago’s blustery winters, always. I honestly believe that even though the temperature has plummeted doesn’t mean you have to let your fashion game drop too. I’m all about experimenting and playing with fashion.

For today’s post I wanted to to create something timeless and classic, and what is more sophisticated and classic then a pair of white pants and a chic white blazer? Some people call this trend, i.e. look somewhat ‘brave’ but I love this sophisticated look. If you want to break up this monochrome look I would recommend adding some bold accessories or luxe gold accessories. White is so versatile, so don’t be afraid to add boldness to your outfit. I will certainly do so as it gets a little warmer! I can totally see me wearing this look with some bright heels and some subtle gold jewelry.

I won’t lie: Winter in Chicago can be is rough. I’ve lived in Chicago for about 10 years and I’m still not accustomed to below zero digits, however, there’s something beautiful seeing the snow fall soundlessly to the ground; it’s almost like our world turns into a snow globe.

We took these pictures at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and as my family and I were strolling through the garden I thought to myself: “How magical the garden looks – being covered in this endless, heavy blanket of snow.” It’s beautiful, and yet it’s very deceiving. As pretty as it looks – we were weren’t able to stay for very long because, simply put, we froze to death.

Now back to fashion: Have you ever wondered which winter styles will not only keep you warm but also leave you looking fabulous?! With the right styling and accessories, you can make winter fashion a whole lot of fun! When it comes to investing in winter fashion, always make sure that they are of good quality. Most of winter clothing are simple, and yet consist of clean lines and streamlined silhouettes. I want my clothing to last hence I don’t mind investing in a few key pieces.

One of my favorite key pieces this winter are faux fur vests. The extra layer of a faux fur vest helps me to stay warm, and they are comfortable to wear, too. There are so many great options out there, from colored faux fur vests to traditional vests.

What is your must-have winter piece? Let me know by commenting below, and as always, thanks so much for visiting!

Much love.

Big Announcement: Becoming a full-time Blogger

Full Time Blogging_What Would V Wear_Top Blogger_Vanessa Lambert

“You will know how far you can go, when you pursue your passion and never stop trying.”

― Lailah Gifty Akita

Waking up this Monday morning was very exciting. It will officially be my last Monday dragging out of bed at 6:00AM. Typically my Monday’s are very hectic. Once I am out of bed I would hurry to get ready before waking my son around 6:30AM. I would get him dressed, make us breakfast, and then we rush out of the house by 7:30AM. I would drop him off at school and head to work afterwards. And now repeat this scenario five (5) times.

Sounds pretty busy, doesn’t it? Well, it is…was.

Most of you probably don’t know but I’ve been working full-time time aside from What Would V Wear, being a mother and wife. I’ve had a corporate job for the last 5 years and ever since I started my blog 1 ½ years ago my life became even busier.

I would work all day (9-5) using my lunch breaks to shoot outfit posts, then pick up my son from school, come home, have dinner, and then edit pictures. It was literally the same routine, Monday through Friday. My weekends are typically more fun and more family oriented, but I will have one or two photo shoots as well. Luckily my outfit shoots don’t take too long. I would seriously dread photo shoots if they took more than 2 hours since my weekends are my sacred family time.

What Would V Wear_Full Time Blogging Career

The balancing act of three jobs (I am including my jewelry business) and motherhood finally hit a point where I had to make a decision: Which way do I want to go?

I decided to take the entrepreneurial route. I left my full-time corporate job to pursue my career in blogging and jewelry making.

So, what does this mean for What Would V Wear?

1. It means more exciting content! I am planning to blog four times a week. You can expect a new blog post every Mo, Tue, Wed and Fr.

2. I am expanding my handmade jewelry business with a new collection coming out in February!

3. Delivering new ideas from motherhood, home interior, etc. Stay tuned!

Are you excited? I certainly am! I’m over the moon to celebrate this new chapter in my life with you all today, and I’m so grateful for all of you! You gave me the courage to take a leap of faith to pursue my dream! Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of you. Thank you for your support, and please know that I will always support you as well.

Winter layering is so fun, believe me. I have created my personal building blocks of a solid, and stylish wardrobe to help me get through the cold winter. There are plenty of ways to layer any outfit to create an on-trend look, or a look that is simply comfy.

Below are my 5 Tips to a Perfectly Layered Outfit:

1. Start with a basic/solid top. In my case I grabbed my favorite solid-colored knit sweater.

2. Add another layer. I added a faux fur vest that I’ve had for years. It’s soft and it gives my outfit some depth.

3. Then add a coat. I suggest a solid color, like camel, and I know you have seen me rock this Uniqlo coat many times but I cannot help it: It’s my favorite winter coat this season!

4. Next, add a scarf but since I was wearing a turtle neck sweater I decided not to add a scarf.

5. Add accessories. You see me wearing my favorite rings, watch and cuff from my V Wear Collection.

Now it’s your turn! How do you like to layer?! Do you have any tips for me? Let me know by commenting below!

As always, I would love to hear from you!

PS: Don’t forget to come back Monday 1/11 for my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Much love.
