Happy Monday, lovelies! Last Thursday I walked the runway together with 14 other Top Chicago bloggers to honor the Lynn Sage Foundation, a research-funding platform founded by sisters Laura and Halee Sage in search of breast cancer cure. The event was hosted by no one else but the fabulous Janet Mandell of Fashionaholic at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. The fashion show was a true success – with attendees joining forces for a good cause, and us bloggers showcasing Nicole Miller’s Fall/Winter Collection 2014. The collection itself was to die for; the designer, Nicole Miller, is known for her modern aesthetics (imbued with bright prints and patterns). I wore a grey twill skirt paired with a long sleeve silk top. The skirt is straight off the runway and reflects their Warrior theme for this Fall season. It is a faux-wrap skirt made of stretch silk twill. I was especially fond of the beaded waistband – it’s so elegant, don’t you agree? It contrasts nicely with the print of the skirt for an eclectic and boho-chic feel. The top I wore is made of solid silk and has an elegant drape across the front that creates an ethereal yet sophisticated look (which looked fantastic with the skirt).

As always, thanks so much for reading and a BIG THANK YOU to Janet Mandell of Fashionaholic, as well as Monika Dixon of Monika Dixon PR, and last but not least, Lena of Felinecreatures who is another fabulous Chicago blogger who allowed me to use some her images for today’s post taken by her photographer Jason J. If you want to see all the looks of the Think Pink Event please, visit her website here.

Also a BIG SHOUT OUT to my former Chicago bloggers – you girls all rock! It was a pleasure walking the runway with you!

Hi my dear friend! Wow, another post that touches close to home. I recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor in my left breast (that is why I have been MIA from my blog). The doctors conducted a biopsy and fortunately they did not detect any cancer cells. I am elated. However, this whole experience has inspired me to get involved in the breast cancer awareness campaign. So, this month I will be wearing lots of pink in my posts, donating to the Susan G. Komen foundation, and joining a 5k run to support research for a cancer cure. It’s so wonderful to see people like you who also donating their time to an amazing cause. You look so gorgeous on the runway (I told you that you were meant to be a model). Love your outfit selection too! Hugs, Lauren http://www.ginnysclosetblog.com
